We all know that anything with friends makes it more fun. But what is best for freerunning? Lets find out.
Sebastien Foucan (freerunning's inventor) says that training alone is the best for the individual. Why? Because the freerunner can explore by him/her self and be creative and just channel that parkour vision better. Whereas it is easier to copy a friend and not be creative with your body. I personally think that a little of both is very effective. Alone is good because of Sebastien's points, but with a group or with a friend is good because you have someone to push your abilities and to kind of inspire your movement. You also have someone to encourage you and to spot new, creative moves. Well, whatever you guys want is cool. Leave comments on what you want the next blog(s) to be about, and we'll happily post on that topic. what you need/wantThere is no specific list of essentials for parkour and freerunning. A good pair of shoes is recommended, but barefoot training is always an option. What I, and many others recommend, are:
*flexible pants or shorts *light-weight shirt *grippy, but light-weight shoes *sweatbands (not at all required, just for freerunner fashion :p) Overall, wear what is most comfortable for you. If you don't like certain things, work your way around them, just li Diet is a key part in maintaining an all-around level of fitness. Here are some things to include and some things to have less of in your diet 🍹🍔 More: fruits, vegetables, water, carbohydrates, protein, grains, and dairy. It is best for your body to have a plant based diet. Less: sugars, saturated fats, no trans fat, colestorol, food coloring, twinkies. It's been scientifically proven that when you listen to music, your body performs better. (Same with caffeine) So, when u train, turn up the beats, because it kind of inspires you and gives you a better sense of confidence. It's cold outside. U switch to another sport like skiing. Wrong choice! U can still train inside and outside. Even in the snow.
Snow adds resistance to your jumps, (It stumps your jumps) but it can be used to your advantage. In parkour and freerunning, we learn to adapt. So, all you need is a pair of pants, shoes, a coat, and gloves. Just don't get frost bite. Remember, you still need to stretch and warm up, so I suggest that you watch Ronniestreetsunts' video on how to train in the winter. Thanks guys, hoped this helped. 🎅 |
